Back of House is a free weekly newsletter helping live event professionals stay updated on global live music industry news, practices, and ideas. Every Tuesday, we deliver ten impactful news stories, quick takes on topics professionals need to know, guest features from leaders across the industry, upcoming webinars, events and conferences, and relevant job postings. We strive to provide readers with eye-opening perspectives and educational content to advance their careers.



We are looking for a dedicated and eager music industry student to join our team. Our ideal intern will embrace creativity and be an intricate part of delivering content each week. You'll have an opportunity to collaborate with all team members virtually through various research projects and support initiatives. You’ll gain experience in content curation, writing for publication, editing, and professional communication while learning about the live event industry and its latest news. You do not need to have prior experience in any of the above fields, but a passion for the live event industry, writing, and collaboration is a plus. We'll help you gain a well-rounded knowledge of the different aspects of project management, foster industry connections, build an audience, and learn about the event industry as a whole.   • Research, curate, write, and edit the weekly newsletter with the most relevant and engaging news

  • Brainstorm and pitch new ideas for newsletter content

  • Participate in discussions and manage research projects to optimize the team's strategic planning process to make it more efficient, effective, and scalable.

  • Support guest feature outreach and management.

  • Assist with editing articles submitted by guest contributors.

  • Help manage our editorial calendar and content team projects, and collaborate with other team members to bring them to life.

  • Join our monthly team calls to brainstorm long term growth and brand partnerships.

  • Engage with our social media content to promote the newsletter and other BOH initiatives



  • Strong desire to learn and achieve results.

  • Creative at the core, excited about pitching a plan, and a forward thinker who can develop new ideas, make an action plan, and make it come to life.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, proactive and resourceful, and a good communicator with excellent attention to detail.

  • Excellent organizational skills. Confident in balancing and carrying out multiple priorities and projects from start to finish and providing valuable results.

  • Self-starter and diligent follow-up with team members, and can meet deadlines.

  • Strong knowledge of Google Suite Products; experience with content management systems like Wix and MailChimp is a plus.

  • Sharp eye for good copy; copy editing experience a strong plus.

  • Team player who is willing to pitch in on a variety of content-related projects.

  • Able to personally motivate themselves while working on projects remotely.
