Festival promoters and freelancers have officially entered the "busy season." This summer will be filled with new ideas as many events ramp back up to 100% for the first time in a couple of years. Keeping our eyes out as venues level up to volcanos and acro equipment is included on artists' riders.

All-Access Pass for TikTokers German company CTS Eventim has partnered with TikTok to bring exclusive behind-the-stage footage to fans during two major festivals; Rock am Ring and Deichbrand.

Arena Sensory SpaceGila River Arena has opened a sensory-friendly room for music fans to visit when needing a moment of calm. The design was made possible with help from the non-profit KultureCity.

Fee-Free TicketsTickets and pretzels will be sold out of one food truck in Denver. An in-person AEG experience offers tickets to multiple venues minus the fees and a tasty snack to go with your purchase.  

Discover New Events from HomeThe Austin-based company, FestivalPass, has officially launched. This platform brings fans live-streamed events. A tiered model allows fans to engage with all things live-streamed, from sports to music festivals, via platform credits. 

LN Next GenLive Nations announced another career development opportunity, “Live Nation Next Gen.” This multi-week course will serve those ages 16 - 21. LN will work with SoLa Impact’s I Can Foundation and other LA-based organizations to recruit program members.

One Million Donation from HarryThe Harry Styles Tour is partnering with Everytown for Gun Safety to raise up to one million dollars in donations. The tour proceeds to the non-profit will be matched by Live Nation.

KISS Retirement KISS has announced that the band is beginning to plan for retirement. Although several shows are scheduled to play this year, the artists will soon be respectfully bowing out to preserve fans' perception. 

"My Hero" Played by 1,000 Musicians One thousand musicians came together for the rock jam Rockin’1000. This year's highlight was the crowd performance of “My Hero,” paying tribute to Foo Fighters' late drummer Taylor Hawkins.

Canada's Comeback Story

The Canadian comeback to festivals has been a challenge as event preparation is officially in full swing. Supply chain issues, lack of returning staff, and headliner changes have all acted as hurdles while getting fests back to pre-covid performance. The budget for many shows has remained the same or even decreased after a country-wide hiatus from festivals. These obstacles are in addition to the strict covid restrictions the country has faced. Regulations are often implemented with little to no warning as the number of cases rises. Promoters are finding that despite lack of time multiple plans need to be made if the covid cases rise when show day comes around.
