Shortly after posting it online, he received a cease and desist order from AEG threatening legal action if the performance wasn’t removed and destroyed. He pulled it down from YouTube and also from his site, however, Kinnes says “the video is going to be online forever,” as “hundreds of people were able to download it before everything got shut down, and those people are re-uploading it.”

Two New Ticketing Bills from US Senate

The US Senate introduced the “Unlock Ticketing Markets Act,” in an effort to increase competition in ticketing by “empowering the Federal Trade Commission to prevent the use of excessively long multi-year exclusive contracts that lock out competitors, decrease incentives to innovate new services, and increase costs for fans.” A separate group of US Senators introduced the “Transparency in Charges for Key Events Ticketing (TICKET) Act” requiring ticketing companies to disclose the full ticket prices, including fees, upfront and it will require resellers who don’t have the tickets in their possession to let buyers know.

Pearl Jam is All-In

Pearl Jam is on board with all-in pricing for its upcoming summer tour, promising that the ticket price is the full out-of-pocket price. They have also announced that tickets will be non-transferrable “to continue to protect fans’ access to fairly priced tickets” in all states except Illinois due to laws prohibiting that. In a statement on their website, Pearl Jam says, “We apologize in advance to Illinois fans who may be subject to increased ticket prices on the secondary market.”

O2 Arena’s New Private ClubO2 Arena in London has announced “The Residence,” a private club set to launch later this year. The 300-person space will include “breath-taking, uninterrupted views of the incredible headline acts,” intimate lounges, a restaurant, premium bars, including a floating champagne bar, and “The Walkway.” The Walkway is a first-of-its-kind retractable viewing platform suspended 70’ above the ground. Access to The Walkway will only be available before shows begin to avoid distracting the crowd. Membership starts at £15,000 per year. Enquire here.

Poppin’ Bottles at VeldCan’t afford a year of membership at The Residence? How about $20,000 CAD for 3-days of bottle service at Veld Music Festival in Toronto? The package includes a bottle of premium champagne, 4 bottles of premium liquor, 1 case of beer or seltzer, cases of water, Red Bull, and food per day. Of course, this is on top of the VIP ticket required to access the bottle service area and the amenities that are included with VIP.

Atlantic City gets BamboozledA week before the Bamboozle festival was supposed to make its long-awaited return to Atlantic City, it was abruptly canceled. The fest was scheduled for May 5 - 7 after an 11-year hiatus with Limp Bizkit, Papa Roach and others. Promoters haven’t publicly stated why the event was canceled last minute, but reports from the city indicate that they were the ones to pull the plug due to not getting documents such as insurance certificates, medical and emergency plans, and various fees. According to the Bamboozle website, “Refunds should be requested at point of purchase.”
