Live Nation discloses new data breach, faces three class action lawsuits

Live Nation notified the Vermont Attorney General on October 1 of a new cybersecurity incident involving Social Security numbers, government ID numbers, and health records, describing the number of affected individuals as “a small number.” Within days, three separate proposed class actions were filed in federal court, all alleging negligence and breach of implied contract, and seeking damages, lifetime credit monitoring, and improved data security practices. The type of data exposed suggests the breach may relate to employee, contractor, or HR data rather than consumer accounts.

The AEG Community Foundation has distributed $400,000 in grants to 22 nonprofit organizations across the US, funding programs focused on K-12 education, the arts, and health and wellness in cities where AEG operates. SSBD Festival built its own Shopify ticketing platform and cut fees by 99%

Same Same But Different Festival in San Diego slashed its ticketing fees from roughly $56 per ticket to $0.75 by building ShopTickets, a proprietary ticketing platform on Shopify developed by festival co-founder and CEO Brad Sweet. The result: the festival’s 2027 Community Tier GA presale ticket dropped $60, from $355 to $295. ShopTickets charges a flat fee per ticket rather than a percentage, has no long-term contracts, and is available to other festivals, promoters, and venues through the Shopify App Store. SSBD previously raised $690,000 through a WeFunder campaign by selling equity in ShopTickets to fans, extending its community ownership model from the festival itself to the platform behind it.

AEG sues Danny Wimmer Presents in long-running festival ownership battle

AEG Presents filed a lawsuit in Los Angeles Superior Court against Danny Wimmer Presents, reviving a dispute that first erupted in 2018 over the ownership of Rock on the Range and Carolina Rebellion. After the companies’ World’s Loudest Month partnership broke down, DWP launched Sonic Temple and Epicenter as successor festivals, which AEG alleged was a misappropriation of the original events’ assets, artist relationships, and production infrastructure. The case worked its way through the California courts for years before a jury returned a partial verdict in 2024 and a California appellate court recently reversed part of that ruling, leading to new proceedings.

The partnership launched in Spain in September and is set to expand across Europe and Latin America through 2027.

Laylo launches AI-powered Discovery Agent for live event artist recommendations

Fan data platform Laylo has launched its Discovery Agent, a new feature that recommends upcoming shows to a network of more than 250,000 opted-in fans based on the artists they already listen to, aimed at helping artists and promoters reach audiences beyond their existing fan base. The Discovery Agent joins Laylo’s existing AI Ticket Sales Agent (which re-engages fans who clicked but didn’t buy) and UGC Agent (which monitors Instagram story tags for shareable fan content). Together, the three form an increasingly automated AI toolkit built around converting fan attention into ticket sales.

AEG and O2 sign UK’s largest-ever naming rights renewal at £200M 🇬🇧

AEG and Virgin Media O2 have extended their naming rights partnership for The O2 in London through 2038 in a deal reportedly worth £200 million ($264 million USD), described by both parties as the largest naming rights renewal of its kind in UK history. O2 is now paying roughly £20 million per year, up from around £12 million under the previous deal and from just £6 million in the original 2005 contract. As part of the renewal, O2 customers will receive 50% more Priority Tickets to shows and, for the first time, Priority access to The O2’s smaller indigo venue.

Live Nation takes majority stake in Chile’s Bizarro 🇨🇱

Live Nation has agreed to take a majority investment in Bizarro Chile, a Santiago-based concert promoter founded in 2008 by Alfredo Alonso, in its latest move across Latin America. Alonso will remain in his leadership role, bringing Bizarro’s deep relationships with Latin artists and its work on the Viña del Mar Festival into a structure backed by Live Nation’s global network. Live Nation’s existing Chilean partner DG Medios will continue to focus on international touring, while Bizarro concentrates on Latin artists and local content. The ice cream shop that makes money when it's cold

28 Wishes sells ice cream in Los Angeles. Below 70°F, sales fall about 20%. The weather is out of their hands. Rent isn't.

So the owners started putting about $20 a day into Kalshi weather markets, taking the cold side. The days that keep customers away now pay something back.

This is hedging. Big companies have done it for decades, buying protection against bad weather, fuel spikes and rising rates. It used to take a broker, a trading desk, and an order size no corner shop could meet.

Kalshi opens it up. Contracts on weather, fuel prices, inflation, tariffs and regulation, starting at a few dollars. Take a position on the outcome that would hurt you. If it hits, the payout softens it. If it doesn't, the contract expires and the good month was the point.
